Legends Of Southern Rock
With

Jerry Eubanks
former founding member of
THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND
Jerry Eubanks, a sax player by trade, was asked by Toy
Caldwell if he knew how to play flute... and although he didn't, that
didn't stop him from answering Toy's question with a resounding "OOO
yeah!." He set out to learn real quick and thus the addition of
the instrument that made MTB's sound unique from all other southern
rock bands was made. Jerry was a mainstay in the band from 1973 - 1996.
His flute and sax solos were, along with Toy's guitar licks, the signature
of the band. Jerry was a founding member of MTB and played flute, sax
and keyboards in the band for 25 years before retiring in 1996..
Years of rigorous tour schedules earned Jerry
and the band the respect of critics and countless dedicated fans. With
Jerry's signature flute intro's on the Tuckers biggest hit singles like
““Heard It In a Love Song,” " Can't You See,”
and “Take The Highway” and many more. Jerry and The Marshall
Tucker Band earned Seven Gold albums and Three Platinum albums while
they were on the Capricorn Records label. In addition to his playing,
Jerry wrote or co-wrote several of the band's songs. During the 90’s,
the MTB scored four hit singles on Billboard’s country chart and
one on Billboard’s gospel chart. Their music has also been featured
on the soundtracks of movies such as Smokey and the Bandit, The Pursuit
of D.B. Cooper, Shipwrecked, and Swing Vote.
